WiFi Mast & Antenna Installation - Whiteley, Solent Business Park

This was a bespoke commercial WiFi installation for an existing customer who designs and manufactures his own WiFi antennas. He needed his own kit mounted high on the side of his commercial unit at Solent Business Park, with proper brackets that would hold up long-term. Six hours on site, antennas mounted, aligned and ready for him to configure.

The Challenge

This client designs and manufactures his own WiFi antennas, so reliable high-speed internet isn't just nice to have, it's critical to his business. He needed external antennas mounted as high as possible on his commercial unit to get the signal performance he was after.

I'd done work for him at a previous address, so he came straight to me again. He provided the antennas and ethernet cables, my job was to get them mounted properly and aligned.

My Solution

I mounted the customer's supplied antennas onto Blake heavy-duty T&K wall brackets and a steel pole, fixed to the side of the commercial unit. The mounting needed to be high enough that no surrounding objects or trees could interfere with the signal.

For alignment, the customer used his own app to fine-tune the antenna direction, since this was bespoke kit he'd designed himself. My job was to get everything mounted solid and in the right rough position so his alignment would work.

Access was the trickiest part, the only way to reach the mounting height safely was a cherry picker, so that was arranged before I started.

The Result

The customer was delighted. For his business, stable internet at high speeds isn't optional, it's the foundation of everything he does, and the new setup was a vast improvement on the old system he was running.

This was an existing customer coming back for more work, which is how most of my jobs go. When someone trusts you with their first install, they call you again when they need something else done. That's the local trade reputation I've spent years building, do the job properly the first time, and the next call comes naturally.
